WOMEN'STEC ran a number of sampling sessions at this year's Training for Women Network Inspirational Young Women's conference in the Waterfront Hall. The sampling was a great success that was "real hands on" and with over 200 women in attendance the trades sampling was very busy and really enjoyable.

Former Eastenders and Strictly Come Dancing star Louisa Lytton tried her hand at tiling. She shared valuable tips on career and lifestyle choices.

Many of the schools were so impressed at our wall tiling demonstrations that the teachers just had to have a go to! Sadly the opportunity for young girls to experience trades like joinery, plumbing and wall and floor tiling are far too few and all the young women who participated really enjoyed it.

It was a fun day for all and an important opportunity to promote gender equality within the construction industry.
